Hi there loves, how I miss you so. This weather has not been the most pleasant in the past few days, but as we try to do always, we find the positive. Think of the extra breakfast dates you had with your loves because of school delays, or the extra cuddles you got with you lover because the cold is perfect for that, or even the extra couch time with your four legged friends. Time spent together with loved ones is simply never put to waste. So, whenever something seems stressful or a pause in your routine, remember that there is good. So while I wish I could have gotten some of my workouts in this week, I am grateful for the extra sleep and the time with my loves. It really can, at times, be hard to find the good, but trust me babes…it’s there. You just have to find it. So wherever your head may be this week with the stress of the weather and the changes in schedules, try to think of the good. Fill that soul with positivity and let it calm the stress. I promise it will do all things good.
So a few weeks ago, I heard a quote that really resonated with me. I am a quote junky. I live by them. I hang them on my walls. I wear them on my wrists daily. And this is one, that if it was appropriate to do this, I would tattoo it, on my forehead…backwards (so i could read it every single day.) It states, “Be where your feet are.” We talk so much about being in the present. I could go back to all the blogs I have written and that has been a reoccurring theme. It is something that we all need to work on. But this quote, it breaks it down even more. In my first grade class last week, we learned what the word “present” means. We decided that to be in the present, means to be happening right now. So yes, you are in the present. Right now, in this present moment, you are reading this blog. But I have a question for you… how many presents are you living in? Stay with me here while I explain. Many times I find myself “living in the present” but not only living in my present… in DJ’s present, in my friends present, in my families present etc. I am in the present but I'm all over the place. And that is why I love this quote so much. Being where your feet are literally means, to be where your feet are. To be here now. So I thought about this for a while and tried to break it down to really grasp what it meant. And when I realized, it all made sense. Have you ever been at the studio, but thinking about what is going on at home? Or have you ever been at work, thinking about what your kids are doing at school? Because I know I have. I sit at school sometimes and think about what DJ is doing at work… but then I am no longer in my present, I'm in his. Because while I am thinking about that, I just missed my student who learned how to add two numbers. You see the problem with just living in the present gives us the opportunity to live in others. That is why we must simply be where our feet are. If we do this, we don’t miss those magic moments. Life is happening all around us, at all times. Don’t let your wandering mind steal it from you. While it is normal to think of those we love the most throughout the day, it is important to be present for the ones right in front of you as well. By practicing this, we might find more joy in our days. Because we are really taking it all in. We are living fully in the present. We are letting go of the worries that surround us and we are here. Where are feet are planted and our heart is beating.
So when your mind is going a million miles a minute and your insecurities are resurfacing, wiggle your toes, close your eyes, and listen for your heart. That is where you are. That is where you need to be. And the rest will all be okay. Let’s make a promise to make an effort to be in our present. To live our life moment by moment. To calm our minds with our souls. I promise you, life will get fuller and our minds will be at ease. All of us can benefit from this in the constant ever changing world that we live in. I love you all dearly and am on this journey with you. Sending you all warm hugs and happy thoughts wherever you may be! Cannot wait to see you all oh so soon!
