Hi, there babes! I hope that this week is treating you well, and if not have no fear. I am right there with you. I think between the anticipation of summer rapidly approaching and the lack of nice weather, we are a little bit out of sorts. And that is okay, we don’t need to be “on” at every moment, in fact, it is simply impossible. So if you are sitting here reading this now thinking that you’re in this place, I encourage you to keep reading. Let your brain turn off for a minute. Let your fears be validated. Let your thoughts be heard. Let your heart settle. Let yourself grasp that you are so far from alone in whatever you are facing. Close your eyes and just be in this moment.
I often struggle with the idea of just being “me”. We live in a world where this message is so proudly preached, but how often is it practiced? We are surrounded by those sayings, the mantras, the coffee mugs that exude individuality and differences, but at the same time, we are weighed down by the social stigmas of being the same if not a carbon copy of the person next to us. So which one is it? Are we suppose to be who we want to be or who the world wants us to be? It’s puzzling, I know and it’s frustrating beyond belief, but it is the reality in which we live.
I think we can all agree that it’s exhausting to live a double life. To go home every night and take off all the makeup we wore to cover our imperfections. To order the salad time and time again instead of the burger. THAT is exhausting. That is draining. That though is our reality. And it is a reality because it is how our perception of this world is. It is no longer about how we feel about ourselves, but rather what the world thinks of us. We are so concerned about what everyone else will think that we lose sight of our own abilities. We miss out on the opportunity to be successful, to be amazing, to be ourselves every single time we give our attention to the ones we are surrounded by. And it’s time that we change that. Imagine how great it would be to love ourselves, and when I say that I mean fully. To not only love the body that we live in but to fall in love with our dreams and our hopes as well. To believe so much in what we are capable of. Because the moment we do that, that’s when we stop being defined by the world and WE start defining it. That moment. The terrifying one where we chose ourselves THAT is the moment that we need to work towards. Because that is when it starts to make sense. When the dark starts to fade. When the sun rises. And that is what we are striving towards.
So today we start. We take the pens out of societies hand and we put them back into ours. We take control of our stories. We become the authors again. And we start to write beautiful things. To be you is one of the hardest things in the world to do, but nothing worth having comes easy. So, meet yourself where you are. Be honest with yourself. Work on the things that weigh you down. Become a better you for you. I promise you, you have this entire studio's support because we all think you are beyond beautiful just the way you are. And on the days where you feel like you’re not enough, come home to us. We will be waiting with open arms and warm hugs ready to remind you over and over until you start to believe it! You got this TORQUE tribe, we will conquer this world as beautiful human beings together, one day at a time!
Sending nothing but happy vibes, self-love, and hugs to you all wherever you may be!
