Hi there TORQUE babes! This snow…has got to go! I am so ready for the beach, sunshine, the beach again, more sunshine….I know I am not the only one. The time will come babes, I promise. But if any of you are like me, this time of year, the weather, the lack of sunshine sometimes puts me in a rut. Simple things become big things. Things that were exciting seem to become a little less bright. Life in general just can start to feel like on big blah. I hate that this happens but it does indeed happen. So what do we do? Do we just let it happen? Do we just mope from January until May? The easy answer is yes. We could just eat all the comfort foods in the world, binge watch Netflix, and never leave our couches. But what we need to do is fight every ounce of us that says to do that and do the exact opposite. We have to make the best of it. We have to find the sunshine in the gloom. We have to get up and get out. Or else this time of year will get the best of us. So how do we do that?? Oh my dearest tribe, the ways are endless. But I came across one that I really like. I am a list person. I live by them. I love them. They are a constant in my life. I recently read this article that talked about how beneficial lists are to a worrying and wandering mind. They help calm and collect our thoughts. While this list could be something as simple as what you have to accomplish during the day or what you need to grab from the grocery store, it could also be all the things that you are waiting to do someday. Ever think of that? What if every time we got a little down, a little blue, a little bored we made a list of what we wish we could be doing. Things we want to achieve. Projects we want to start. Hobbies we want to take on. What if we took the negativity and turned it into positivity by bridging the two together with the thought of someday. So when life gets tough, when the temperatures outside are too cold to bear, when the world just seems to be gloomy…make a list for someday and then turn those somedays into memories. Here are some ideas on what these lists could become. Write them down, type them out, chit chat about them over a glass of wine. Whatever it may be, use your imagination, you hopes, and your dreams to bring sunshine into the dark winter nights and watch your mood change from parka and ice scrapers to sunny and 75.
