Happy Wednesday TORQUE tribe! Today is all about LOVE and no matter what you feel today or who you spend it with, know you are ALWAYS loved and welcomed in this tribe! That being said, it is a Wednesday and Wednesday’s are for our women crushes!! This is honestly the ultimate GALentine out there! This week, we are changing things up for the WCW, because while we love our instructors dearly, it is time to give our clients some much-needed love and recognition. So this week, I give you an inside look at one of TORQUE’s faves, Jen Raneri! Honestly guys, how could you not fall head over heels in love with her?! She is one of the most beautiful, strong, caring, down to earth souls that I have ever met. Although I have not known her for long, it was evident, from the first day I met her, who she was and what she stands for. My friendship with Jen started right before the blog launched. She had reached out to me and assured me that this would be something amazing. She was rooting for me and I had never even met her before. She showed me the kindness of her heart right off the bat, and without knowing her that well, I knew who Jen was, a kind, sweet, humble heart. Not only is she an inspiration to us all that we should strive to be more like, she is a mama to adorable six-year-old twin girls, an audiologist at a local private practice, and (shocker, I know) an avid TORQUE client! She finds peace within the walls of TORQUE, especially in the spin room. Spinning since Summer opened her first studio, Jen has grown leaps and bounds in the fitness world. She used the term “AOA”, adult-onset athleticism (as coined by the amazing Stacey Griffith, one of the founding SoulCycle instructors) to describe herself because she hadn’t worked out since college, but then, she started up again and has not stopped since! You can catch her in the studio 24/7, well not really, but almost! She is a daily doubler (you go, mama!)! She said that this is what works for her, and it allows her to be her best; mentally, emotionally, and physically. If she’s not in class, you might find her behind the desk, ready to help anyone with anything. Jen’s one of those TORQUE angels that we are all beyond lucky to have in our lives. So this week, show her some love, I promise you she will give it right back!

Infinite X’s and O’s,
Favorite TORQUE memory: Opening Day
After more than a year of building not only an incredible business but also a beautiful community of friends, we literally outgrew our space at TORQUE. Classes were consistently full. The wait lists would not budge! The studio was jam-packed with so many people at all times (and love and good vibes of course!) We all knew that something bigger and better was coming. The weeks leading up to the opening of our new home were so exciting! I remember the week when the move from our starter home to our forever home took place. It felt like FOREVER. So many of us didn’t know what to do with ourselves. We couldn’t wait to finally go home to our home away from home! On Opening Day, this past January 2nd, it surpassed anything that I could have ever imagined, and for what it’s worth, the huge and inviting studio was only part of it. The real joy came in the smiles on the faces and in the hearts of the people. I probably saw 100 new faces (yay for new friends!) that day, people who you could tell were nervous about trying spin/barre/trx for the first time, but who came out of their first classes sweaty, happy, and nothing but smiles! I knew, that, like so many of us, they would be back! And then there were all the clients who have been impacted by the magic of TORQUE before and they had the ABSOLUTE best reactions as they entered. I mean honestly, we should have videotaped the entrances all day because they were just THAT amazing! Jaws were dropping, people were screaming, clapping, crying, jumping up and down. (it was a whirlwind of emotions, but can you blame them?!) They raced from the waiting area to the barre/trx room, to the spin room, to the childcare room and even the showers! Cheering about everything and anything! Everyone was just SO HAPPY. They were happy for Summer. They were happy we were blessed with the studio of our dreams. They were happy to be a part of this family. The joy spilled over into the classes throughout the day, in every class, with every instructor. The feels were SO beyond real. It was so apparent on Opening Day what this studio stands for and what it was built on. But really, every day since then, I still get the same feelings I did walking into our forever home as I did that first time. I mean, how can you be anything BUT happy knowing that you are a part of this amazing tribe?
My favorite quote and what it means to me:
My favorite quote is, "Choose Happiness." It's the perfect segue from why Opening Day was such a great memory for me. It's so simple, but it's a great reminder that we have a choice, every day to choose happiness. It has been said that we can completely alter our lives by altering our attitudes. Sometimes that's not as easy as just telling yourself to be happy. When you're going through something rough, and you feel overwhelmed or stressed, happiness can feel so far out of reach. Sometimes you have to put yourself in an environment that will help you reset. For me, TORQUE is that environment. Whether it’s the music, the endorphins, the encouraging/uplifting messages from the instructors, or the energy of the people you're riding with ( and most likely it’s a combination of all of the above), frequent visits to TORQUE are a perfect example of me making the choice everyday to “choose happiness”.
My favorite class to take at TORQUE:
Spin classes are my favorite form of exercise at TORQUE. Not only is it an amazing workout, it allows me to feel all the feels. Spin allows me to connect to my inner dialogue. It allows me to identify who I am and how I’m feeling deep down. It gives me a space to work out all those feelings on the bike. Sometimes the sadness or stressors that I push down throughout the day come to the surface and are released when I'm spinning. I have cried on that bike too many times to count. I don't even realize that it’s happening, and can't always explain why it is happening. But when I'm done class, it's like the heaviness has been unloaded. I feel free of those negative or sad thoughts. I always feel lighter when I walk out of the darkroom ready to face whatever the world throws my way because I know that I can always go to our home away home to sweat, to dance, and to recharge!
My favorite workout clothing brand:
Okay, so I'm a shopper, and I LOVE buying workout clothes! (anyone else out there feel the same?!) I am a frequent Lululemon customer for leggings (my favorite - anything 7/8 high rise in Luxtreme) and sports bras (my favorite - Energy Bra). I'm a huge fan of FP Movement by Free People. Their pieces transition well from class to the street, which is key for those with busy lives...so everyone, ha. Bandier is another favorite site/store. They sell all the current styles from quality brands. Definitely check them out if you haven't already.
My favorite post-workout snack:
My healthy go to for my post work out cravings are apple slices with coconut peanut butter. Check out http://alohaspreads.com, or make your own using your favorite nut + coconut mana. Cashews and macadamia nut are a must try in your homemade spread. Seriously, so good people!!
Top 5 songs:

2. This Is Me (Kesha, From the Greatest Showman)
3. Parade (VINAI)
4. New Rules (Dua Lupa)

Fun facts about Jen:
So two things! First, I’ve been able to combine two of my favorite things - TORQUE and fashion. Since the new studio opened, I have been designing all the swag for TORQUE. I hope you are all LOVING the new styles as much as I am. Second, I LOVE yoga! I feel like it overlaps a lot with what we do in trx, and great for all us riders with the tight hips! Yoga is something that can be done anytime and anywhere, even in the comfort of your own home. I recommend a yoga practice for anyone who rides routinely because it offers so many benefits for not only your body but also your soul!
