Good morning beauties! It’s a Wednesday, you all know the drill! Wednesday’s in this studio are my favorite. Not only are there some kickass classes BUT they are the days that we get to shine a light on the strong, badass, beautiful women in this tribe. This TORQUE babe that I have for you this week is definitely strong. She may very well be the definition of a badass. And she is not only beautiful on the outside, but even more so on the inside. This week I bring to you Kim Harrison. I can’t even begin to describe the amount of respect, love, and happiness I have for this special lady. The person she is and the life that she has built for herself is amazing. I have a special place in my heart for the “do-ers” in this world. The ones who put others before themselves. The ones who go the extra mile even if they didn’t have to. The ones who are thoughtful and kind. Kim is that person. She cares about the people in her life. She wants them to be happy. She wants them to know that they are loved. And as a result of that, she has found peace and happiness. But it wasn’t that simple. Everyone in this world has a story, but not everyone has Kim’s perspective. She has fought some of the toughest battles with the most perfect mindset. She will tell you that it wasn’t always this easy or beautiful. But she believes to her core that your life is a reflection of what you put out in this world. And she has made a commitment to make her output love. (I mean does it get any better than that?!) When Kim started putting love out into the world, the universe gave it right back. She first found TORQUE, then she found a love for herself, and then she found Summer. The love they have for each other is beautiful. The life they are building is beautiful. The story they have to share is beautiful. And if that isn’t what this studio is about, finding yourself, loving yourself, and finding the most joyous things in life and being able to experience them with the ones you love then I don’t know is. When I look at Kim, I know she is exactly where she needs to be. (Which 99% of the time is in the spin room, front row, looking at her love do her thing!) Kim is an amazing example of someone who really practices what they preach. It truly is so beautiful to watch how she loves others and lives her life. Kim, don’t ever change. Your happiness, dedication, kind hearted, old soul is needed in this life. We are SO lucky to call you ours! Here’s to you and all you do for so many!
To read about Kim’s love for TORQUE keep reading! As always, sending hugs and so much LOVE to you all no matter where you may be!
Favorite TORQUE Memory:
My favorite TORQUE memory is the day that I reconnected with an old friend who is now my very best friends (Stacey Armor) and met a client who I hadn’t previously met, but I now call one of my best friends (Jill Hopkins). I came into class excited and pumped because I had a good friend coming into town and Michelle had just so happened to play both me and my friends favorite song and artist; Kesha’s “Blow”. This is when I then discovered the remix of this song and discovered my love for “beat drops” I went a little crazy during weights when the beat dropped which almost made Jill Hopkins fall off her bike and made the instructor Michelle laugh hysterically. After class they both approached me to see why I went so crazy and I said it just made me feel so good and excited and I couldn’t contain it so I let it out. From then on I got into more “beat drops” and wanted the music louder and faster and to have more BASS! I found myself screaming next to Jill Hopkins more frequently and well the rest is what you can call history.
My favorite quote is “get out of your head”- A lot of instructors say this and coming from an athletic background it really works for me and is a good reminder to just shut my annoying brain off sometimes and just let go and ride.
My definition of TORQUE:
TORQUE is a place that any individual can go and walk out feeling different. Whether the different is good, bad, in between it allows people to actually evaluate themselves physically and emotionally and then puts the ball in their court to make the decision to either come back or not, but lets them know they “have them” and it’s a “safe haven”, judgement free place where everyone works together to make each other better.
Favorite Workout Clothing Brand:
I love Adidas everything but whatever I find at Marshalls is what I end up with! Not too fancy here ;
Favorite Post Workout Snack:
I love my shakes, either protein or vegetable shakes!
