Happy Wednesday TORQUE babes! You know what time is it!(no booty time is NOT the answer, but good try!) It’s time to shine some light on another strong woman that makes up our tribe. She is a mama of two rambunctious boys who love their mama (and sports!) and the owner of two adorable pups! Her husband and her were avid athletes and credit that to their boys loves for sports! She tries to model to her boys that life is about many things, but balance one of the most important skills to have. She quoted, “you work hard, you play harder.” and from what I have heard, she carries that mentality with her into the spin room. She holds the title for Tuesday Theme Rides and Happy Hour class on Friday’s. Don’t be fooled, you will be pushed hard, but all while having fun (win-win)! When she is not in the studio you can find her working for a local finance company. This is her 20th year in the field and that is no small feat! So, this week, I am happy to give you an inside look at Noreen Procaccin. Let’s give this strong lady some much-needed love!

Fav Torque Memory:
Ask anyone at the studio and they will have to pause, scratch their head, and think long and hard. Not because they can’t find one memory but because there are so many to choose from. I’ve heard, from so many, that it’s the personal connections they have made, an “ah-ha” moment in class when that combo they have worked on so hard just clicked, a class that truly spoke to them, or just the feeling they get when they walk in the door. Most recently I was asked to teach a charity ride to raise money for the Philly Spin-In for patients undergoing cardiac treatment at CHOP. One of our tribe member’s son, Thomas O’Donnell, would not be here today if it wasn’t for CHOP. Before class Tommy’s parents, Kerri and Hugh thanked everyone for their donations and we all got to meet Tommy who danced to his favorite song “Happy” before class started. It was emotional, heartwarming, and we were all so proud to be there for him. The love and support from people who never met Kerri and her family came out and donated was absolutely beautiful.

“In a world where you can be anything be kind” I spoke about this when Summer posted her instructor highlights in December and it’s been a part of my mantra for many years.
Kindness heals the soul. Walk through the doors of TORQUE and you can feel the energy. It happens every day. Everyone is greeted with a genuine smile, cheerful hello, hugs, (mostly sweaty ones) as you pass someone who is coming out of class as you are heading in. Kindness builds friendships, it’s contagious, and it makes you happy! A smile can change the world and it’s one of the easiest things to give. And believe me, smiles are most contagious at TORQUE! (seriously how can you not smile)
My Definition of TORQUE:
To me, TORQUE can’t be defined, which is why I’m happy to share what TORQUE means to me. TORQUE is my second home. It’s a community that works as a team. It’s where I come to connect with people on a personal level and challenge them to push themselves further than they did the day before, both physically and mentally. The experience is about watching people grow as they push past their obstacles and become stronger and more confident. You can bring your children and feel safe knowing they are in good hands. I’ve seen people come in who have never been to TORQUE and may be scared or intimidated walking in, but as they leave they are exchanging phone numbers or connecting on social media with others they’ve never met before. Every class is different and so is every emotion that we feel. This is what makes the TORQUE experience so unique and special. It’s a game changer!
Favorite Workout Clothing Brand:
My pants are almost always Athleta, I’m a creature of habit. I don’t have a favorite go-to for tops, I have a few favorites that I keep in rotation. Some are original TORQUE swag, others are Target. I love a good muscle tank, it’s the tomboy in me!
Post Workout Snack:
Hands down, an Acai bowl from Sweet Aloha, especially after a morning workout. The rest of the time I stick with a banana or an RX bar. I suffer from muscle spasms in my calves so a good post workout drink with electrolytes is a must as well.
